Exo-Glove demonstrated for bomb disposal

Transferring the mechanical constraints of the robotic hand into a glove, enables highly controllable movement between operator and end effector – mission-critical for bomb disposal and other remote-control applications. The glove was successfully demonstrated controlling a robot hand to snip wires as part of DASA funded program but there was no practical route to commercialisation.

The need for better actuation is clear from this and all our experience building robots and prosthetics.

Actuation for humanoids

“There are 10’s of thousands of electric motor designs in the world … none of them were suitable for a humanoid robot… “ Musk

To get the humanoids to replace people will require mechanisms/wiring that approach these fantastic reliabilities.
